Home Bank is relocating its Downtown branch to the former Teche location on Johnston Street.

Home Bank is moving its Downtown branch from 523 Jefferson St. to the corner of Jefferson and Johnston streets, the former Teche Federal location that briefly housed IberiaBank after the two banks merged in 2014.

The Johnston Street location’s visibility and connectivity between Downtown and the UL Lafayette campus will help it serve more people in the Downtown area, John W. Bordelon, Home Bank president and CEO, said in announcing the move.

“I’ve lived in this community long enough to understand its resilience,” added Bordelon. “We continue to believe Lafayette will prosper, and we believe it’s a great time to be investing in our community.”

The new location, at 1001 Johnston St., is expected to open in the coming months, after renovations are complete. Grand opening celebration plans will be announced closer to the branch opening.

Home Bank owns the space at 523 Jefferson St. and will market the property as soon as the relocation is complete.
